Christine remembers, as Project Manager, having done clearance upstream of the Iron Bridge, at Radwell Meadows, in the early 1980s, courtesy of the local Northern family and with lots of helpers and chainsaws and avoiding Sundays. The Northerns were very supportive and helped to clear up afterwards. Many thanks must go to the team of volunteers for all their hard work helping doing the clearance. The Herts Countryside Management Service was the organisation responsible through the Mid Herts Valleys Project
It’s amazing how light and airy that part of the river was back in the early 1980s. You can see the plants growing in the river and the clear water.
